I Recommend
I don’t believe that any single person can give you everything I need. That’s why, when writing for ADDucation, I turn to experts and people with greater experience.
With the four basics of overcoming ADHD of Exercise, Diet, Productivity and Social Skills I’ve taken and learned from a lot of people to improve my understanding and my own situation. Here are the people and the products that I recommend above all others.
Getting Fit and Improving Your Diet
Diet and Exercise go hand in hand more often than not. If you’re taking pills, but you haven’t taken the time to look at your Diet and Exercise, now is the time to start. A pill alone won’t do it, and dialling your diet and exercise will make a massive difference.
The benefits of improved diet and exercise include better concentration, improved focus, happiness, assistance in the annihilation of depression and a better sense of wellbeing. Add to this the fact that a decent workout session is the equivalent of taking a dose of Ritalin or Adderall and you’ve got a health, positive way to improve your ADHD.
Get Started With Steve Kamb at Nerd Fitness
Steve and I first met in 2011 while he was on his Epic Quest. Apart from being a really down to earth and positive guy, Steve makes exercise incredibly accessible. So far he has been behind three guides that will help you to improve your strength, fitness and running.
Steve, like myself, eats a variation of the Paleo Diet (the best ADHD Diet) and has even created an exercise regime that works with this. His guides are detailed, cover all the questions you’d have about exercise and fitness, and will hold your hand every step of the way towards achieving fitness Nirvana.
I recommend starting with his Rebel Fitness Guide to nail the basics before looking at his Rebel Strength Guide to improve your body and confidence.
Improve Your Knowledge With Robb Wolf of The Paleo Solution
I was first introduced to Robb Wolf’s book by a member of the Domination Crew. After giving it a read and following up on a few questions I had, I began eating Paleo and have never looked back.
When I began eating Paleo, Robb put up with a series of my emails detailing him on my progress and answering any questions I had. He is a veritable toolbox of information and isn’t shy with the science behind his comments, and has been instrumental in helping thousands of people get started with a Paleo way of eating.
If you like a bit of heavy science with your diet and exercise, and want to take your understanding to the next level, Robb’s 30 Day Paleo Guide and Paleo Solution Book are a great place to start.
Becoming More Productive
A constant bain in the life of every ADHDer is their levels of Productivity. In fact, ADHD Productivity can be difficult to master if you don’t know how.
Whilst exploring and playing with a variety of options, I’ve come across a few different “hacks” that I’ve used for improving my productivity. I’ll be listing them soon.
